Great Tool to help save money in Ham Radio

Josh Nass (KI6NAZ) over at the Ham Radio Crash Course on youtube posted a great video and a new resource to help save some money in our hobby of Amateur Radio.

Ham Radio Prices is a website dedicated to helping ham radio enthusiasts find and compare prices on various amateur radio equipment. It acts as a price aggregator and comparison tool, pulling data from multiple online retailers to give users an overview of the market.

Key Features and Functionality:

  • Price Comparison: The core function is to compare prices across different online stores for specific ham radio equipment. It displays listings with prices, product descriptions, and links to the retailers.
  • Product Categories: The site is organized into various categories, making it easy to find specific types of ham radio gear. These categories include:
  • Transceivers: Covering HF, VHF/UHF, and handheld transceivers.
  • Antennas: Including HF, VHF/UHF antennas, and antenna accessories.
  • Amplifiers: Both HF and VHF/UHF amplifiers.
  • Power Supplies: For running ham radio equipment.
  • Accessories: Such as microphones, headphones, cables, and more.
  • Search Functionality: Users can search for specific products using keywords, making it faster to find what they’re looking for.

Looking at the site and digging into the data it does seem that they do regular updates to the price listings to reflect changes in the market.

Also It’s important to note that hamradioprices.com does not sell any products directly. It acts solely as a price comparison tool, directing users to the retailers where they can make purchases. Which is a great service to the community. I’m not sure they are using affiliate links underneath the covers but realistically this to me seems fair given the work involved with maintaining the site.

Have a look and definitely add it to your list of must check sites when looking at a new purchase.
